 Bio

I've been listening to heavy music in one form or another for as long as I can remember. My older brother turned me on to Kiss, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, etc., when I was about three years old. At the age of twelve, I got my first guitar & started the death metal band Apostasy a few years later. We recorded a well-received cassette & played several live shows with our friends' bands such as Soilent Green, Flesh Parade, Paralysis, & Mule Skinner. Apostasy eventually broke up, but my love of music has never faded. I still play & write on guitar, but I've always loved the darker side of electronic music, too. The heavy dub of artists like Scorn & Coil persistently intrigued me, & I found the sounds & visuals of experimental industrial acts (SPK, Swans, Dissecting Table, Nocturnal Emissions, etc.) to be awe-inspiring. So, in late February of 2013, I decided to start something of my own: Mind of God. All of you are invited to come along on this ride with me; you just might enjoy it. I know I do.

Review Excerpts:

"Cellar-like darkness...menacing. The Mind of God track, 'The Supreme Ordeal', delivers punishingly slow, hammerish beats, falling rhythmically on top of your head, or like a droid punching your stomach in! Who could imagine that dark sh*t could be so catchy?! There is something here for the industrial-dub fans of Scorn, dark ambient, drone, you name it! A release well worth anyone's attention. One of the must-check-out releases of 2018."
- Per Najbjerg Odderskov of Kalteldur Webzine on the Mind of God/Di-Noise
split LP

"I must say, this Mind of God record is sincerely Bad Ass!! It is really effective at influencing the 'lighting' in a room. It's really well put together, and in moments, it beautifully pays homage in sound and arrangement to some of it's more Broadrick-esque predecessors." - Tannon Penland (LOINCLOTH / GAUCHISTE) on the Mind of God - 'Ominous' LP

"This album is AWESOME." - Josh Eustis (NINE INCH NAILS / PUSCIFER / TELEFON TEL AVIV / THE BLACK QUEEN) on the Mind of God - 'Ominous' LP

"'Ominous' is the kind of animal that knows just how effective psychological terror can be, with its heavy industrial and dub rhythms and sounds producing an atmosphere of intense darkness. It’s as good as impossible to listen to this and not have a sense of paranoia grow; such is the malice and threat held in these six songs. The beats are incredibly heavy, and it’s hard not to be absorbed in to them; despite the undeniable heaviness, there’s also something quite ambient about 'Ominous', with each track building an aura that drowns the listener, submerging them in the dark, treacherous waters. It’s safe to say that this is one album that lives up to its name." - Stuart Wain of The Sound Not The Word webzine

"Pizzolato has made phenomenal use of earth-shaking lows, piercing highs, and the placement of sounds, so that the music has a kind of three-dimensional character. Wherever you choose to play it, it’s worthy of a good-quality sound system." - Kate MacDonald of Heathen Harvest Periodical on the Mind of God - 'Ominous' LP

"Interesting, new, and refreshing underground act from the U.S. working on a sound/style which was sadly forgotten in the late '90s. If anyone could remember the works of Mick Harris and James Bullen (Scorn), or the sound of Coil in the late '80s ('Windowpane' era) or maybe even the static electronic melancholia of Autechre - 'Amber', you would have a way of describing the sound of Mind of God. Dub and psychedelic-inspired minimal industrial. It's damn refreshing and original and incredibly well done! Sounds, atmospheres, and trippy drums swirl around and jump between your speakers creating an awesome audio vortex!" - Per Najbjerg Odderskov of Tironas Magazine on the Mind of God - 'Ominous' LP

"Mind of God is a deathtrip through dub and industrial. This stuff can be heavy when it wants to be. Pizzolato is of the twisted mind variety, so have a gander if your interest is piqued." - David E. Gehlke of Dead Rhetoric review site

"Mind of God is my favorite creature on these sample days of testing them all out. It seemed the most intelligent, the most LSD-vision-inflicting creature on the compact disc. Has a good rhythm of heart and did show excellent self-hygiene. It made me consider leaving my wife in order for a long-lasting relationship with this creature of danceable visions and intellect." - YIKIS Review Site on the Mind of God track "Impending Revenge Porn Dokument Drop" from the 'Creatures Vol.2' compilation CD

"You can never really be sure what to expect from an artist called Mind of God, but if nothing else, you can at least assume that the name is a nod to a grand creator, and as such, this music would reflect that. It is rather spectacular." - Joshua Macala of Raised By Gypsies review site on the Mind of God - 'Frozen Children's Krypt' EP
